Singapore Airlines Signs Order for 20 Boeing 777X-9s and 19 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners

Portland, United States – This week, Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Singapore Airlines agreed to a large order consisting of 20 Boeing 777X-9 and 19 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft. The order adds onto an additional order for 30 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner by Singapore Airlines. While Singapore remains to have a large order of Airbus’ newest long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900XWB, the pacific rim based airline showed this week that it will still be a loyal Boeing customer for many years to come.

The Boeing 777X-9 will be the largest twin-engine aircraft in the world once it enters service, carrying more passengers on less fuel than that of previous generation airliners of its class. The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner, for which Singapore Airlines will be the launch customer of, takes efficiency and comfort to the next level. Singapore Airlines intends to use the aircraft on new routes from its hub at Singapore Changi International Airport that would ordinarily be unprofitable.
