Korean Air to Take Delivery of Seven Bombardier CS300 Aircraft in 2017

Victoria, Canada – South Korean national carrier Korean Air expects to take delivery of seven of Bombardiers newest commercial aircraft, the Bombardier CS300. Korean Air will become the first operator of the type in Asia when it takes delivery of the new aircraft sometime this year. “This is our first CSeries aircraft customer in Asia and signals the aircraft program’s entry into the fast growing Asia-Pacific market,” said Gary R. Scott, President of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. “Korean Air is one of the world’s most prestigious airlines, and we are extremely proud that it has selected the CSeries aircraft to meet its route expansion requirements.”

In June of 2011, Korean Air committed to 10 CS300’s with an additional 10 options, and another 10 with purchase rights. The announcement came after months of detailed negotiations. “Our list of customers continues to grow and now covers the Asian, European and North American markets, a testament to the high value and operating flexibility of the CSeries aircraft program,” added Mr. Scott.

Air Baltic took delivery of the first Bombardier CS300 in commercial service back in late 2016. The first Bombardier CS100, the smaller version of the CS300, launched service with Swiss back in 2016.
